Understanding Light with Newton's Prism
This is my understanding of lights from Newton’s prism experiments. Newton has discovered that sunlight /white light is made of 7 base color lights (VIBGYOR). Also later, other scientists had discovered invisible lights such as Infra Red, Microwaves, Radio, UV , X Ray and Gamma Rays. Some lights emit heat (infra red). They all differ in wave length.
Deep Space: Black Holes, Gravity & Spacetime
This is my way of understanding Deep Space Science. I have basic understanding of Gravity, Time and Speed of Light.
- Gravity and Time work opposite. When gravity is high, time is slow. When gravity is low, time is fast.
- Speed and Time also work opposite. If someone travels fast, his/her time ticks slow. If someone travels slow, his/her time ticks fast. At the speed of light, time STOPS. (Albert Einstein’s discovery)
- I also have interest in black holes. Multiple stars collapse densely to form a black hole. At a black hole, time STOPS, and gravity is infinite, even light can’t escape. There are also many mysteries behind them.
Solar System: Sun, Planet & Moons
In the solar system, there are 8 planets (sorry, Pluto), and 290 moons. Other than Earth, I like Saturn because of its beautiful ring structure. Saturn also has 145 moons. Our Sun is a nuclear ball. Our space is so, so big. Do you know how far the nearest star is? Okay, for easy understanding, if the Sun is the size of a football, then the nearest star, Proxima Centauri, is the size of a pepper grain (1 cm) and is 64 km far away!
Flying Principles: Newton & Bernoulli
I like learning about flights and how things fly. Rockets fly because of Newton’s third law. When something pushes out from the rocket, the rocket goes the other way. Rockets are very fast. They can go 7 kilometers in one second. That means a rocket can go from my school, First Toa Payoh Primary School, to Marina Bay Sands in just 1 second. Airplanes fly using Bernoulli’s aerodynamics. I can show this with a paper experiment.
US Military Tech: Jets, Ships & Missiles
I am very interested in US military things. The US Armed Forces are super strong. They use the best planes, missiles, ships, and weapons in the world. I went to the Singapore Airshow and sat in the pilot seat of an F16. I also learned cool things about the F35. I am curious about how fast missiles can go. I have watched Top Gun many times. It is so cool!
